  I used Sweet Pea gardening for about a year. I have a house in a neighborhood with really big lots. I moved to my house with a quarter acre lot after living in a condo. Needless to say, I didn't know what I was getting into. I first learned of Sweet Pea gardening when my mother-in-law purchased a gift of gardening for my husband for his birthday. Sweet Pea did a great job clearing out a lot of overgrown debris, so we decided to hire her for regular maintenance and to rehabilitate our lawn and prepare the yard for new plantings.
  
  At first everything went well and our yard began looking better and better. Then we noticed that even though we were paying $200 a month, the yard got to a certain level and never changed. It looked better, but it didn't improve. Each week the people she sent would do less and less.
  
  Then we decided to hire her to do some additional work, by removing some old rubble and weeds from a section that we then had gravel added to. This cost over $350, which was fine. But for some reason during the time they worked on this project, the regular maintenance on our yard was not done, which revealed that all of the weed and invasive plant "removal" they had done was just at the surface, no roots had been pulled and in that lull of maintenance in the middle of the summer, all the weeds and invasives came back!! To add insult to injury, we were still billed $200 and were expected to pay.
  
  The final horrible encounter with Sweet Pea gardeners came late las summer. I was home one day when the gardeners stopped by and I was asked whether I'd like to have the Japanese Maple in the backyard trimmed. This is (was) a stunning tree. One of those lushly draping specimens that everyone comments on when they see it. I had been clearing dead branches out of that tree each fall to keep it healthy, so I doubted that it needed much work and told the gardener not to cut it unless there were dead ranches that needed to be removed.
  
  Two weeks later I came home and my tree was hacked!! Lots of character branches were removed and the draping canopy was cut so high up the tree looked like a lollipop.
  
  DO NOT USE SWEET PEA SERVICES. Even if at first things seem good, they will go bad.
