  I wanted to learn more about having a custom wedding ring made in the style that is similar to sand casting. I spoke with the son of the owner. He explained to me why sand casted rings are not a good thing and that they could instead emulate the design with a better quality casting. That was fine and appreciated. What struck me as odd was the conversation kind of stopped there with him telling me I had to make an appointment to discuss the ring further with his father. There was no attempt to show me what a ring of the size I wanted would look on my finger. He didn’t measure my ring size. He didn’t offer to show any rings they had in stock. I’m assuming they have a picture portfolio of past completed custom designed men’s rings? If so, then that would have been nice to see. I left the store kind of frustrated that I was instructed to call in at a later time, after already taking the time out of my day to physically drive to the store, to talk further about the ring. My contact info wasn’t obtained. Of note, the father finished his meeting while I was still in the store, but I was still allowed to leave the store without talking further about the ring.
  
  I’ve had other rings custom made. As an example, I’ve had rings custom made at Skeies jewelers. I walked in without an appointment and in one sitting we had a ring designed, paid for and with a set delivery date. Very helpful, easy and most of all it seemed like my business was wanted and appreciated. I wish that could have happened today. In any case, perhaps my expectations were too high. Guess I’ll go to Skeies again which isn’t a bad thing for sure.
